About the Artist
Patricia “Tricia” Cassady has been involved in art since she can remember. It all started when she used to paint along side her Mother. Her other love is of nature and the outdoors. Tricia is currently a full-time Conservation Agent for a Town, which allows her to enjoy the outdoors and find inspiration to draw and paint from. Through her position of Conservation Agent she conducts regulatory protection of wetland resource areas and has protected several hundred acres of land through grant awards. Her favorite mediums include pen & ink and watercolor, which she learned to perfect through the Natural Science Illustration Certificate Program at The Rhode Island School of Design, graduating from the program in June 2006.
Tricia also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Scientific Illustration from Bridgewater State College (now University) in Massachusetts.
Tricia has been a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI) New England Chapter since 1998 where she has held the positions of Treasurer and President. She has also been a member of the National Guild of Natural Science Illustrators since 1998 and is the current Membership Director as well as the Auction Coordinator for the 2021 GNSI Virtual Conference.
Tricia has painted several commissioned works of art and illustrations, has exhibited in many shows over the last 20 plus years and continues to enjoy teaching art through her studio: The Art & Nature Studio established in 2014.
